Frequently Asked Questions

What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized form of conservative care physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, nerves, joints, and connective tissues of the pelvis and core. These structures play an important role in bladder and bowel control, sexual health, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, core stability, and movement. At Paragon Pelvic Health, I begin with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. Your personalized treatment plan may include education, hands-on therapy, movement and exercise, breathing and relaxation techniques, and strategies to help you return to the activities that matter most to you. PT’s do not prescribe medications nor perform surgical interventions.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a complimentary call - I will walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

I welcome the opportunity to assist you in answering your questions and planning your rehabilitation journey.

What makes you different?

At Paragon Pelvic Health, your care is never one-size-fits-all. You receive private, one-on-one treatment from a Doctor of Physical Therapy who has specialized in pelvic floor rehabilitation throughout her career. Every visit is thoughtfully designed around your needs and symptoms as well as your comfort and goals, with continuity of care from the same clinician.

Paragon offers an inclusive, holistic approach to pelvic health—addressing bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, sexual health, perimenopause and menopause concerns, and recovery following prostate surgery. Just as importantly, you will have the time and space to discuss sensitive concerns openly, without embarrassment or judgment.

Are treatments painful?

Pelvic floor physical therapy should not be a painful experience. At Paragon Pelvic Health, your comfort, safety, and trust are our highest priorities. Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs and progresses at a pace that feels right for you. I work with you—not on you—and you are always in control of your care. If a technique causes discomfort, we adjust our approach. My goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help you feel more confident in your body, never to push through pain.

What is trauma informed care?

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the impact past experiences can have on a person's health, comfort, and sense of safety. At Paragon Pelvic Health, trust is the foundation of healing. You are always in control of your treatment, and I prioritize clear communication, collaboration, and informed consent at every step. My goal is to create a safe, respectful environment where you feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout your healing journey.

Do you take insurance?

No. At Paragon Pelvic Health, your treatment is never dictated by insurance requirements. Every session is one-on-one with a licensed pelvic health physical therapist, allowing ample time for thorough evaluation, hands-on treatment, education, and a personalized plan of care. Our focus is simple: providing exceptional care tailored to your goals—not insurance company limitations. Upon request, a superbill can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual insurance benefits.
